Individual Volunteers

There are lots of ways to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of the families staying here at the Chapel Hill House.

The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is always looking for House Volunteers who want to help others. The everyday tasks you do at work or around your house are the same tasks that regularly need to be done here. House Volunteers often work in ways that immediately help the families.

Volunteers do things such as answer phones, give tours to visitors, prepare bedrooms, help families get settled, provide directions to hospitals and doctors’ offices, bake, clean, maintain the house gardens and organize closets. Minimum age 18.

Contact Director of Volunteer Services Cathy Hall at cathy@rmhch.org for more information.

Located on the 7th floor of the NC Children’s Hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room is a special place where families can relax and “get away” for down time while still being close to their child. The role of the Family Room volunteer is to help create a supportive place within the hospital for families that have an inpatient child. The volunteers are crucial to maintaining the friendly, caring atmosphere of the Ronald McDonald Family Room – an extension of the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. Minimum age 20. For the health and safety of Family Room visitors and volunteers, the kitchen and living room areas are currently closed to the public. We continue to provide complimentary snacks, drinks, and small meals for families to take back to their child’s room.

Contact Family Room & Volunteer Services Coordinator Kimberly Logel at kimberly@rmhch.org for more information.
